My love of food is inextricably linked to my love of travel. Born in Harare, Zimbabwe to Filipino parents, and raised in Oklahoma and Michigan, I have since had the good fortune to live and travel all over the world, from the rural countryside of Brazil’s interior, to the sidewalk cafes of Paris, to the bustling markets of Southeast Asia. I’ve also been lucky enough to travel the lower 48 states (Alaska and Hawaii are up next), enjoying many of our country’s regional cuisines and dishes, from lobster rolls in Maine to red and green chile in Santa Fe, NM.
My cooking is a fusion of all of these experiences; a living, constantly evolving souvenir of all of the people and places that have shared themselves with me. I believe that good food connects us, not only to other cultures and places and stories, but also to each other.
