Class: The Tofu Transformation
Instructor: Jamie Aquino
Description: Cooking with tofu doesn’t need to be intimidating or complicated. Sometimes all you need are a few tips to get you on your way! This hands-on class is full of information, cooking techniques and Jamie’s secrets to preparing tofu perfectly each and every time! Jamie will show you proper cooking techniques and how to transform tofu’s texture from soft and bland, to chewy and complex, using methods such as Dry Fry and Thousand Layer. You will also learn how to use tofu to create creamy dips, desserts, the “how to” of seasoning and marinating, storing tofu, avoiding common cooking mistakes and more!
On The Menu: No-Fish Fish Sticks, Chili Soy Tacos, Kung Pao Lettuce Wraps, and Chocolate Truffle Pie! You’ll also learn easy accompaniment recipes like: Cilantro Lime Dip and Tofu Tarter Sauce. Each student will get the chance to prep and cook tofu, so you can go home and cook tofu with confidence!
Students will also go home with a handy Tofu Guide that includes helpful information on choosing textures/firmness, brands, where to buy non-gmo and organic tofu, how to store your tofu, and more.
